Aviwe is a Bcom Information Systems graduate with work experience in managing media and technology marketing teams, project design and monitoring management. She is currently the Monitoring Manager for Waves for Change a mental health organization that is innovative in providing mental health intervention to underprivileged children across Africa. Between 2017-2018 helped design and run the first entrepreneurship and coding academy at Dream Factory Foundation. A Google funded project to expose young underprivileged girls to technology and entrepreneurial thinking. In late 2018 she joined Waves for Change and assisted to manage and roll out an in-house monitoring app. This app is designed for offline use by sports coaches to monitor and track attendance. She further helped to start engaging young people on this app from rural communities where her and Waves for Change make micro payments to rural sports coaches to help encourage their work in sports for development. She is also the incoming curator for Cape Town Global Shapers a World Economic Forum initiative, and is part of the project team for the P&G #WeSeeEqual project named Ladies in Tech in partnership with Silulo Technologies, The Social Makeover and Dream Factory Foundation to expose young woman from township communities to technology, entrepreneurship and mentorship. Aviwe has also founded the #VioletRaysLife YouTube channel where she uses social media to connect young people from different parts of the world to tell their inspirational stories as well as use technology to facilitate networks between young driven youth. She is passionate about youth, entrepreneurial thinking, motivation and building empowerment communities for women. She is also currently part of the DGMT Organizational Innovation Fellowship where she is being mentored in organization innovation and growth management.
