Lianne du Toit

Voted as one of “Fast Company’s most creative people in business in 2016”, Lianne resides in Cape Town and is completing her Masters in Philosophy in Inclusive Innovation at the Graduate School of Business.

She is passionate about startups and professional woman advancement. She studied entrepreneurial curriculum writing at Harvard Business School and hopes to help enable South Africa’s next generation of startup founders.

Lianne has been recognized as a global tech leader. During her tenure of being vice chairperson of Silicon Cape, she successfully took delegations to raise funding in Europe alongside being selected to represent South African entrepreneurs at Global Startup Nations, Entrepreneurship Summits and Congresses.

Lianne’s latest venture is CareDirect where she has taken her tech skills and put them to solving real problems of unemployment. CareDirect is an online platform that simplifies your search or different types of CareGivers in your area, to support you in caring for your family, your home, or your pets. The platform allows you to personalize your search so that you find the right CareGiver that matches your needs. Lianne is also on the core team of Future Females which exists to connect, inspire and support current and aspiring female entrepreneurs.

She founded Renegade Tech Events (Tech Events Business) and HackOn (Hackathon Consulting Service) in 2017 out of her passion for events and technology. Alongside being a Program Manager at the Venture Incubation Program which is pre accelerator program where startups to test and validate new business models and bringing ideas to life. Airbnb dubbed Lianne “the Startup Saint” and awarded her rights to run Airbnb experiences where locals and visitors get to meet, talk and share insights about the Cape Town tech startup eco-system.
