In 10 short years, Wilson has diligently and enthusiastically worked her way up at retail organisation, TFG. Entering into an administrative position, Wilson established herself well in the Human Resources department from whence her analytical, logical and inquisitive nature piqued her interest in IT. Maintaining her primary position in HR, Lynn acquired multiple part-time roles in technology, which culminated in her sole position as HR Analyst.
Aside from her daily responsibilities in the corporate environment, Wilson used her knowledge and teaching nature to coach internally at the TFG HR Trainee Programme. When TFG partnered with CapaCiTi and the University of Cape Town, Wilson joined the programme as a line manager, spending three years coaching and mentoring the Business and Systems Analysis Programme for graduates with and without IT backgrounds. These graduates were groomed and equipped in both business and IT fundamentals and went on to graduate from UCT and were employed by TFG.
With the leadership decisions made by TFG and the support from management teams and Talent Development, internal HR talent previously experienced or inexperienced in technology from various areas of the business and our external talent from CapaCiTi programmes were groomed and transitioned into HR Information Management roles, where she continued to provide on-the-job training, coaching and exposure to information technology projects.
Wilson went onto contribute her expertise and experience to a Human Capital Management project as Systems Manager, whilst completing her Postgraduate in Management Practice, specialising in Innovative Leadership. Lynn has recently become the one of the youngest females of colour in a senior management position at TFG, as she assumed her role as Senior Manager: Business Process, whilst her quest for knowledge persists as she furthers her studies in Project Managment.
